About University

After returning in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs № 922 of 12.09.2016 “On the temporary redeployment of LDUVS named after E.O. Didorenko “to his native Luhansk region in Sіevіerodonetsk, Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O.  Didorenko continues to train personnel for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, police officers and specialists in the field of law in specialties 081 “Law” and 262 “Law Enforcement” for Luhansk region and other regions of Ukraine. Thus, in the current academic year 2017-2018, 496 cadets, students and trainees, 149 students and trainees obtain a bachelor’s degree in full-time or part-time education, 149 students and trainees – a Master’s degree.  In addition, the university is a training center for the Main Directorate of the National Police in Luhansk region.

During the redeployment, the educational process was restored, in accordance with the license conditions, its material and technical and educational and methodological bases were renewed.  In particular, a hostel and a dining room for cadets, two libraries, computer classes, a multimedia shooting range, a gym and other classrooms that meet modern requirements have been put into operation; new educational and scientific literature was purchased in volumes that meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In the near future it is planned to create conditions for accessibility for training of people with special educational needs.

Active work on the introduction of distance learning technologies in the educational process is being continued in LDUVS named after E.O.  Didorenko under the leadership of the Vice-Rector of the University, Doctor of Law, Professor, Colonel of Police Karchevsky Mykola Vitaliyovych. There is an educational and methodological support of all taught disciplines, trial testing has been established for all blocks of external evaluation for entrants to the master’s degree in the specialty 081 “Law” on the platform of distance learning.  Moreover, LDUVS named after E.O.  Didorenko became the first higher education institution among universities with specific learning conditions which introduced distance learning of investigators and operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on its distance learning platform. In addition, this platform is actively used for scientific and career guidance activities.  In particular, it has become a tradition to hold an Internet based lesson for 11th grade students of about a hundred secondary schools in Luhansk region.

The teaching staff of the university also fully meets the requirements of legislation in the field of education.  80% of scientific and pedagogical workers have obtained the academic degrees of Candidates and Doctors of Sciences, of which two thirds have the academic ranks of Associate Professors and Professors.  Teacher training is carried out in proper time. During the period from 2014 to date, the scientific and pedagogical staff has successfully defended three dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Laws and five dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Law; published a number of monographs and textbooks on topical issues of legal regulation. Thus, the university is actively engaged in research work on topical issues in the field of law.  The main areas of scientific research are: 1) Scientific and organizational support of law enforcement agencies. Legal and organizational support of law enforcement agencies. 2) Improving the activities of law enforcement agencies to combat crime and ensure public activities.  3) Legal and organizational support of law enforcement agencies. 4) Problems of personnel, educational and methodical support and social and psychological work in the activities of law enforcement agencies.  Re-registration was also carried out and the issue of a professional publication on jurisprudence “Scientific Bulletin of Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O. Didorenko”, in which the scientific achievements of representatives of domestic legal science is to be published.

Today Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O. Didorenko continues the established and begins new traditions due to the requirements of the time and remains a leading state higher education institution with specific learning conditions.
